Search by Collection Types in RUcore

Project:RUcore/NJDH/Partner Portal Search
Version:5.2
Component:Searching - Service Agent
Category:feature request
Priority:normal
Assigned:ananthan
Status:closed
Description

Select "Collection" from the Types picklist. The results list displays the collection objects. Click on the Title of the collection object. A link "Browse The Collection" appears in the top of the results screen. Click on this link browses the parent collection. This is confusing.

For resources, Browse the collection should browse the parent collection.
For collections, Browse the collection should browse that collection.

To avoid confusions, we should probably label this link with the name of the collection. For instance, Browse the Peter Still Collection.

As an option also we can hyperlink the collection value in the full record view so when it is clicked on it will search for all titles with that collection name. I have setup an example on lefty64 at the following address. Do an empty search and goto a full record view, look in the metadata and you will see the hyperlinked collection name in the metadata.

<a href="http://lefty64.scc-net.rutgers.edu/rucore/search/index.php" title="http://lefty64.scc-net.rutgers.edu/rucore/search/index.php">http://lefty64.scc-net.rutgers.edu/rucore/search/index.php</a>

I like Chad's suggestion. It looks good. I will wait for Rhonda and her group to decide.

Yes, this is more intuitive. Let's go with this approach. Thank you!
