Marc Export from Fedora - Name of the school isn't established or tagged properly, but could be

Description

This appears to refer to the 720 field, not 650 (column A). The ETD application is concatenating the "Rutgers University" value with the school name data. According to the MODS/MARC map, <name> with type="corporate" and no <role><roleTerm> with type="text" will map to 710 ind1=2 ind2=blank. Only a name with no type attribute will map to 720. If we want this to map to 720, we have to be able to remove the type attribute, which is supplied in the XML, not by the cataloger. However, currently it is not mapping to 710, possibly because we have no value for the roleTerm type attribute (i.e. the criteria for 710 mapping are not met). KA and JT will look into this; KA has done some playing with the role term (8/12/09) with puzzling results, but will continue checking to see if the ETD should send this data as a single heading (rather than two headings for later concatenation), and to see if it can map to 710. Bob can fix the problem in the interim by replacing the text string and placing it in 710 (indicators 2_); JO will provide him a list of school names, verifying all are established in the Name Authority File.

Carla,

I am assigning this to yourself. This was reported by Jane Otto when she was in charge of ETD cataloging. We need to revisit this issue and find a solution.
