Dave,

Can you confirm the ./rutgers-lib/logs/request.xml file is writable by the web user?

#2

Chad,

The directory is writable by the webuser and there is a request.empty.xml
file in the logs/ directory writable by the web user. There is no request.xml
there does the code try to create one or does it expect that one is already
there and juts keeps reusing it.

The README file was to copy over the old rutgers-lib/logs directory over from
the previous version but the file did not exist there either.

dhoover@rep-staging:/home/httpd/html/rucore/rutgers-lib> cd ..

dhoover@rep-staging:/home/httpd/html/rucore> ls -ald rutgers-lib/logs/
drwxr-xr-x 2 nobody nobody 4096 Dec 7 12:11 rutgers-lib/logs/

dhoover@rep-staging:/home/httpd/html/rucore> ls -al rutgers-lib/logs/
total 12
drwxr-xr-x 2 nobody nobody 4096 Dec 7 12:11 .
drwxr-xr-x 9 4501 4500 4096 Nov 2 11:31 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 nobody nobody 56 Jul 22 22:58 request.empty.xml

I don;t think the code will try to create on if one doesn't exist. The request.xml from the previous version of the code should be copied over and made writable by the web user if it isn't.

Sorry I just read your note again. In this case please rename "request.empty.xml" to "request.xml"

I don;t think this will be a problem on production. I guess "Request a Copy" was never tested on staging in the past.

Thanks.
