Change order of citations in Dynamic Bibliography

Description

Currently in a Dynamic Bibliography, it seems that citations are ordered within a category (e.g., Article, Refereed), by reverse chronological order of deposit.

Please change the order within each category to reverse (descending) chronological order by date. (For date, use Date Issued; in the absence of Date Issued, use Date Created.) In other words, display the newest work first, on top, going down to oldest work at the bottom so the most current work is first within each category. This is consistent with user expectation, CVs, etc.

We have several unsolicited comments about this from faculty outside RUL.

Assigning the issue to Chad as it requires modification of the RSS feed used to create the dynamic bib page.

Currently ordering by date of ingest. I will look into how to change that.

In your configuration try changing the

|orderby=newest|

to

|orderby=datedesc|

This is for a variable named $aCfg['rucore-feed-uri-query'] in my copy.

Jane,

I see you marked this active but kept yourself assigned. Were you going to look into this more or was the change Yuhwei made not to your liking and you wanted me to look into this more?

This is fixed pretty well. I'm leaving it active and assigned to me because the issue is more complicated than it first appeared and I need to consult further. The sequence of my one article ("University Faculty Describe") looks funny because the date displayed in the citation is pulled from descriptiveEvent type=citation, and I asked for the sort to be by dateIssued/dateCreated. I'm not sure whether to change the citation display or change the source of the sort date. In any case, I'm aware that the date in descriptiveEvent type=citation is not indexed. The two year discrepancy between descriptive event publication date and originInfo dateCreated is fairly unusual I think, so the problem will be rare.

My articles are now displaying correctly. For the one anomalous article, I copied the date from descriptiveEvent type=citation to originInfo-Date issued. Now the date displayed in the citation is the same date used for sorting and everything looks normal.

The instruction to use the descriptive event date ALSO as the originInfo-date issued has been in the new SOAR AP all along. I realized this as soon as I started processing deposits and reading the AP (which I had written but forgotten. ;-)
