Descriptive event for cataloger should not be in descriptive metadata

Project:New Jersey Environmental Digital Library (NJEDL)
Component:Miscellaneous
Category:task
Priority:normal
Assigned:rjantz
Status:active
Description

NJEDL records migrated from the original system to RUcore have a Descriptive Event in the MODS metadata that records the date of original cataloging in NJEDL along with the name of the original cataloger. This now shows up in the public display. The information is not necessary to retain and this information is inappropriate for public display.

Example:
Persistent URL <a href="http://hdl.rutgers.edu/1782.1/rucore00000002110.Document.000058434" title="http://hdl.rutgers.edu/1782.1/rucore00000002110.Document.000058434">http://hdl.rutgers.edu/1782.1/rucore00000002110.Document.000058434</a>

We need to find a way to either suppress this from displaying, or removing this segment of the metadata. I am assigning this to Ron Jantz for discussion at Software Architecture Working Group.
