Package Download - getting error message from 7-zip when I open the downloaded TAR file

Description

If I download a package from the Research Portal - and attempt to open the downloaded file, I get an error message:
"There are no trailing zero-filled records

[tar]
c:\{path}\package.tar"

This is happening with any of the datasets on rep-devel RUcore - Primate Dental Microwear, for example.

Is there another program I should be using to open the tar files? I'm using 7zip version 9.19.

Please test. As per the TAR specification two 512-byte zero-filled records have been added at the end of the packing process.

Need to re-open this - in testing rucore-test.libraries.rutgers.edu more today, I ran into this again, ONLY using Chrome and IE. Firefox was fine.

I know that when you had resolved this problem earlier, I did try all 3 browsers successfully before.

I've attached all 3 TAR files, with added .txt extension. With the Chrome & IE files, I'm getting the "there are no trailing zero-filled records" message when I try to open.

Note - that if the user clicks OK, the TAR file does open, and the files ARE available to the user. So functionally it works, but with errors again.

Thanks -

Tested again in IE (v 10.0.9200) and Chrome (Version 27.0.1453.110 m). Seems to be working as expected (i.e., fixed).

Still works properly in Firefox (v 21.0)

Will mark fixed.
